I am pleased to announce that I will be standing for re-election, as an independent candidate, in the upcoming election in June 2025.
I will be adding my 2025 manifesto page to the website in the next few days but to give you a flavour of what to expect, here are some of the things that I will be focusing on.
Guernsey is at a crossroads. We desperately need deputies to work together and deliver solutions to address the issues currently facing our island.
We need a far more joined up government, free from party divisions and personality politics.
Deputies need to be far more disciplined than they are today. Agree on a set of key priorities and stick to them. This will focus minds and result in savings and efficiencies, across government, because resources will not be pulled in so many different directions.
If elected, my six key priorities for the next term will be to:
Support business and grow the economy.
Solve the housing crisis.
Improve educational outcomes and close the skills gap.
Provide reliable air and sea connectivity.
Deliver high quality healthcare.
Balance the books
If I am re-elected, I will work collaboratively with other deputies to deliver on these key priorities. With the experience that I have gained this term, I am ready to hit the road running.
Please vote for Nick Moakes on June 18th.
